IIUG Board Elections 2025-2026

IIUG Board Elections 2025-2026

Every two years the membership of the International Informix Users Group elects its Board of Directors. Anyone who became an IIUG member at least one month prior to the election is eligible to vote via online ballot. This term for the new Board of Directors will begin on January 1st, 2025 and will terminate on December 31st, 2026.

The IIUG Board of Directors election is overseen by a Nominating Committee that supervises both the nomination process and the election. The members of Nominating Committee are appointed by the current Board of Directors and cannot be standing for election.

The election is a democratic process whereby candidates who receive the most votes will be confirmed and notified in a timely manner.  To avoid potential conflicts of interest, votes are automatically tallied and manually validated by the members of the IIUG Nominating Committee.

IIUG Board Member Duties

While the IIUG Board is a voluntary entity, it would be advisable for you to understand what is expected of you if you are elected.

The IIUG Board meets three times a year. The meetings are held over three different weekends and may require traveling. All meetings are mandatory. Travel, hotel and dining expenses are covered for all in-person meetings if in-person meetings are needed.

The IIUG Board holds a monthly call. Because we are an international group residing in different time zones the call is set to 12 PM US Eastern. This call is mandatory. Occasionally other, usually optional, calls are scheduled.

In order to expedite communication, board members are requested to reply within a week to e-mail messages addressed directly to them or to the Board email group address. All board discussions are to be kept in confidence unless the Board decides otherwise, including e-mails.

Serving on the IIUG Board requires more than just a monthly call and three board meetings. Board members are required to invest a considerable amount of time carrying out various board tasks.

Make sure your IIUG responsibilities and commitments are known and supported by your employer and family.

If you are interested in becoming a Board member, please review the documents below regarding the duties of a Board member and the timeline for election.
