These free enablement sessions will consist of two separate one-hour e-conferences/per day. These are independent lecture/demo sessions, held over the internet.

*** Important *** Participantsmust be prepared to complete the workshops and lab assignments as 90% of the enablement takes place from EGL/JSF/RAD/Jasper tool use. This is a 4 - 6 hour/per day commitment. Please do not sign up for these sessions if you cannot commit to doing the workshops and lab assignments.

The e-session daily times will be: 8:00AM to 9:00 AM EST, and 11:00 AM to 12:00 AM EST

Again, there is no fee for these sessions, However because there will be only one or two mentors, enrollment is limited to the first 20 respondees. To "sign up" for the enablement sessions, just email jsayles@us.ibm.com. I will enter your name/eMail into a Notes database, and contact you prior to September 12th, to verify setup and configuration Below are the detailed instructions to have your machine configured prior to the first session on 9/12. PS - note that the 2nd week (JSF/EGLWeb Page Development) session pre-req of having completed the EGL Languageand Services enablement session - or at least the equivalent EGL work experience.

Setup and configuration for the Distance Enablement

  1. Hardware pre-requisiste

    A fast (2GHZ or better) processor, with at least 1 Gigabyte of memory and 5 gigs of free disk space - note that the memory is a requirement, this class cannot run on 512Meg

  2. *** Before September1, 2006 ***

    Install and update the RAD or WD/z software - either permanent or trial version (available on the web)

    1. Install Version 6.0.0 - don't forget to check the EGL installation option when installing
    2. Upgrade the software to 6.0.1.1 - iFix2 - or the latest iFix available (may be iFix03 by 9/8). From the start menu, run Rational Product Updater to do this
