Happy new year to all IIUG members!

In 2019 IBM is planning to release Informix 14.1.

The best place to acquire a full knowledge of all the new features will be IIUG World 2019. All we can say about it is it will be in October probably on the west coast. There are many good reasons to attend the IIUG conference. Getting up to date information about the new release will gives this year’s conference a huge additional value.

I have been participating in the IDS EVP program since IDS10 (when it was still called 9.5 and the EVP was called Beta). It is a great experience and an opportunity to help with Informix and getting to know the product. Since version 10 every new version is loaded with new features; we DBAs were longing for. 14.1 and it will have them too.

I know many of you are concerned with Informix’s visibility in the press. Informix is getting ready for the new release and I believe that during 2019 we will see more press coverage.

I wish 2019 will be better than ever for IBM, HCL and Informix. More Informix users, more IIUG members, more local user groups, a bigger and better conference, more content for the IIUG Insider, an interesting and profitable year to you all at work and a happy and peaceful year all together.
