The NTIUG is proud to announce we are hosting Madison Pruet of IBM at our next NTIUG meeting, scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2003, from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM. Lunch will be served and sponsored by Gillani, Inc., the makers of FourGen CASE Tools and FourGen Accounting software.
Madison Pruet will present on Replication in
the IDS Server including HDR and ER. Key items covered will be:
1) Internal Logic
2) Set up issues
3) Differences between HDR and ER
4) Monitoring and Trouble Shooting
5) Replication Strategies
While discussing a bit about internal
logic of HDR and ER, the primary focus
will be information that is useful from a customer perspective. There
will be a Q&A, including examination of any
customer cases that anyone would like
to have examined. (assuming network access)
A resident of Flower Mound, Madison
joined IBM as part of the Informix acquisition.
Prior to the acquisition, Madison had been an Informix employee
for five years in advanced tech support and as architect for Enterprise
Replication. Prior to working at Informix, Madison worked at La Quinta
Inns, Sperry-Univac, and Xerox. Madison
is a key architect of the IDS product. In addition to the ER work, he
was a member of three that implemented the large chunk feature and the
implementer of network encryption in the 9.4 IDS
release. In the 9.3 release of IDS, he
was responsible for the ER performance enhancement features.
He has recently expanded his role to include work in the IBM Information
Integration product.
We
have also arranged to present on Informix-4GL. All Informix-4GL developers, mark
your calendar !
Gillani, Inc.
will present "Extending Informix-4GL programming capabilities using FourGen
CASE tools (formerly Informix-4GL FORMS & MENUS)".
