Free IBM/SEIUG Workshop on IDS 11.5 Continuous Availability - November 13thIBM and SEIUG will host a free one-day, hands-on look at the IDS 11.50 Continuous Availability Feature, including remote standby secondary servers, shared-disk secondary servers and combinations of those with HDR. We'll also look at the IDS cluster manager and failover arbitrator. This combination lets IT managers deploy whatever set of IDS servers makes sense for their business needs. It is the most comprehensive offering of this kind available today. The day will consist of some lecture and some hands-on work to set up a cluster of IDS instances and prove the failover capabilities. You'll also use the new capability of doing updates while connected to the secondary servers. This will be a training session only for SEIUG members, consisting of 3 hours of discussion on the Mach 11 enhancements of 11.5, followed by an optional afternoon lab. At the end of the lab, you will have built an entire functioning Mach 11 cluster of instances with HDR, RSS, and SDS servers. Students will configure, tune, fail over and recover portions of the cluster. They will load balance and create connection managers to manage the cluster.
