Multicarta achieves 99.997% uptime for its Informix-based Credit Card Authorization CentreInformix was cited as a key component of Russian credit card processor Multicarta's success in reducing downtime at its credit card processing centre to an astounding 15 minutes max per year. The processing center utilizes HP ProLiant DL580 G3 servers running Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS 4 and IBM IDS for its database of credit card holders and their details. System monitoring and fail-over are provided by SteelEye LifeKeeper. The Multicarta system is a yet another example of the value of IBM Informix for high-availibility, high-volume and mission-critical OLTP systems. (4 December 2008)
