IIUG Expects to Sell Out Again at the Second Annual International Informix User Group Conference

Overland Park, KS, August 8, 2008 — IIUG (International Informix Users Group, http://www.iiug.org) is an organization of volunteers dedicated to the Informix community. Following a record-breaking conference that boasted the largest single gathering of Informix sessions and vendors under one roof since IBM's purchase of it, the group is planning to repeat this successful event.

The conference takes place in the same location, at the newly renovated Overland Park Marriott, from April 26-29, 2009. The Sunday kickoff will feature up to ten tutorials for participants to choose from, and the packed three-day agenda will offer over 60 Technical sessions from top expert users, as well as IBM Informix experts from around the world.

The conference is unquestionably a global affair. Last year's attendance was comprised of Informix users from over 20 different countries. People flew in from South America, Western and Eastern Europe, Asia and the AsiaPacific rim, to attend this groundbreaking event that received rave reviews from participants. "Next year I need to clone myself so I don't have to decide what sessions I would attend as they were the best I had ever seen," said one member.

Conference registration opens in November with a special early-bird price for IIUG members of $499. Sponsorship opportunities are available, and those interested are encouraged to sign up early. The group expects a complete and early sellout of both attendee and sponsor spaces once again. "We saw a rush of sign-ups for the 2008 conference. I think users realize that the amount of Informix content and access to experts that we offer for such a low price is unbeatable," says Cindy Lichtenauer, IIUG Board member and lead conference planner. "Given that the entire conference planning committee is coming back for 2009, I can only imagine this conference to be even more successful."

Details about the conference and registration information can be found at www.iiug.org/conf.

The entire conference planning team is returning for 2009, headed once again by Cindy Lichtenauer, IIUG Board member; Walt Hultgren, IIUG Founder, former Board Member and IIUG Directors Award winner; James Edmiston, former IIUG Board Member and IIUG Directors Award winner. Joining the executive team is IIUG Board Member Tammy Frankforter.

"This event is a can't miss for anybody using Informix today. No other event in the world offers this much Informix content, access to Informix experts, and demos on the latest developments and innovations with Informix technology," Stuart Litel, IIUG President said. "I look forward to improving the event and strengthening our Informix community for years to come."
