|Informix External Tables - you've probably heard of them, but have you used them?
External tables allow the reading from, and writing to filesystem files through SQL. They offer more flexibility in unloading and loading data than regular unload/load statements, and are much easier to use than the High Performance Loader. On top of this, they provide significant performance advantages over many other methods of moving data.
