Returning Board Members (listed alphabetically, by last name) Gary Ben-Israel As part of the team that developed the IDS 11 DBA test and as a participant in the IDS 10, 11.10 and 11.5 Beta programs Informix has a major role in my professional life. This year on the IIUG board I devoted my energy to the growth and support of our membership. I am delighted to see our community growing and expanding to new geographies. I would like to continue to devote my time, energy and passion to help IIUG members. I feel there is much more work to be done and will be glad and honored to do it. Sérgio Ferreira Using Informix since 1986, Started with Informix 3.30, worked with most products, founded the Portuguese LUG, served the board last two years. I believe that IIUG:
I think I can be good element on the board because I:
The Informix Community can count on me. Andrew Ford I have been working as an Informix DBA and Software Developer for the last 9 years. I cut my teeth with a with a startup named Simplified and honed my skills at The Home Depot before settling down at NetworkIP, the 2007 IBM Informix Information On Demand Innovation Award winner. I was a mid-term addition to the IIUG board in 2007 and want to be a full-term addition in 2008. In 2007 I ran the IDS vNext new feature survey, spoke at IOD, interviewed with IDC for an IDS white paper and helped put together the IIUG conference web site. Cindy Lichtenauer If re-elected, this will be my fifth year serving on the IIUG Board. My focus over the past four years has been on Conferences, Local User Groups and therefore helping to educate the industry on the best database technology in the world. I am excited to be a part of the leadership team that is organizing and planning the first ever Informix-only conference since IBM purchased the product! There is still work to be done with the User Groups. Let's do it! I would be honored and proud to continue serving the "Informix and IIUG Family". Stuart Litel IIUG's top priority is assisting the Informix users worldwide, and the IIUG must do whatever is necessary to ensure the continuity of the Informix product line. IIUG has a duty and responsibility to protect its members' interests by influencing IBM to continue and increase its investment in Informix. My goal, as President of the IIUG, is to make sure this is achieved and make sure the IIUG exists in the interest of the Informix users, current and future, in working as a liaison between the user and IBM and to continue the newly started IIUG Conference long into the future. Jean Georges Perrin This year has been a busy year, with many successes. I will not claim any for me personally, but as a team. Here are a few: IIUG.tv, IIUG Conference, increase in membership, new ISVs supporting IDS, new web sites... As I stated last year, the road is still long. I need you and your vote. My plans for the 2008/2009 term are to increase our community, especially outside the US, along with new tools and services. Kernoal Stephens I was honored to serve on the board for 2007. Being able to host our own conference in Kansas this year is an accomplishment for us and the Informix user community. I look forward to another year and to keep the momentum going. Thank you for your support and dedication to Informix. Kate Tomchik I love Informix and prefer it above all other databases. I am excited that we are having an Informix-only conference for the first time since 2000. It just testifies how strong the language continues to be even under IBM. I work very hard maintaining the IIUG website in my spare time while being a Database Architect at The Home Depot during the day. My rap sheet:
Please consider me for another year. New Candidates (listed alphabetically, by last name)Tammy Frankforter I have been a member of the Informix community and frequent Informix conference attendee since 1998. I have served on the IIUG Conference Planning Committee for the past three years. I am excited and honored to be part of this hard-working team because I am passionate about bringing quality educational and networking opportunities to the IIUG members. My enthusiasm for all things Informix, my ability to work effectively as a team member, and my experience on the Planning Committee make me well-suited for the IIUG Board. Thank you for your consideration. Art Kagel I have long worked for the support of the Informix database and for the user community. I was active in the behind the scenes efforts to bring IDS to Linux and later to support the efforts of those brave folk who remained with the Informix team after the IBM purchase. Over the years I have also benefited from the efforts of those who could dedicate time to the IIUG. Now I have an opportunity to give back in a more demonstrative way. Towards that end it is my great pleasure to offer myself as nominee to our Board of Directors. Norma Jean Sebastian I have been working with Informix products since 1988, starting as an Informix 4GL developer during college and expanding into system administration and Informix database administration. Comprehending the software/hardware stack below/above Informix has enhanced my IDS abilities greatly. I am triple-Informix certified. I wish to serve on the board as a servant to the IIUG community; to use my drive and energy to help increase awareness of Informix. I am passionate about working to get IDS back in front of students and to help create a new generation of Informix enthusiasts. Please vote me onto the Board. Bruce Simms I started with Informix in the early 90's at The Frick Company. My company currently relies on Informix products ranging from IDS to 4GL which I am directly involved with daily. I have been involved in local user groups, IIUG Leadership Council and serving on the 2008 Conference Planning Committee. If elected I will do my best to support all users needs and further growth in the Informix product line in supporting a product line and user group I have been involved with for over 15 years and will continue to do so in my current job at Talx.
