Check Table with Fix option

hi all,
my server had a power failure and after restarting Redbrick (6.11,
AIX5.1), there were a few tables having 'inconsistencies' errors when
i use Check Table on them.

according to the manual, we can use Check Table with Fix option to try
and fix these damaged segments problems. I have never used Fix option,
so would like to seek advice on anyone who have used it before. What
are the worse case scenario when using Fix.. will it render the whole
database unusable? or at worst it'll make that particular table
irrecoverable? I am reluctant to proceed as i do not have a very
recent backup, plus do not have support
