Thanks Adam.
Yeah. you are right.. we have only one FILE_GROUP defined as the entire disk array is on one controller. Am going through this document. hopefully will see the light.

Also the number of disk controllers constrain the file groups you can have.

I spent some time re-segmenting our largest table and distributing the PSU's
across the logical drives to maximise parallelism, and the resulting improved
performance was resounding.

We have one Logical volume stripped (RAID 5).. all the table segments are placed
in this directory... What would be the recommended setting for FILE_GROUP
parameter and TUNE GROUP.. We have 6 CPUs and 8 Gigs memory..and the volume is
about 200 gigs.

any inputs will be appreciated..
