RE: Data Modeling Tools - ERWIN Desupporting RB

Posted By:

Bill and fellow RedBrick people.

Apart from the VARCHAR issue, are there any other shortcoming in ERwin 4.1 when
working with RedBrick 6.2?

Thanks

Adam

Alec

I got this information directly from CA technical support.

When we received 4.1, I noticed that the RedBrick version dropdown stopped
at version 5. So I opened a case that they needed to support version 6
(especially since 6.1 introduced the VARCHAR datatype).

They replied that they are no longer supporting any current or future
versions of RedBrick.

See also Mohan's reply in this forum.

Thanks!

Bill

Bill

Where did you get this info.

I am currently evaluating ERwin 4.1 to move us from 3.5.2 and am having
issues.

I have support calls into CA who have not yet said "Go away"

Regards

Adam

All

Since CA has made a decision to desupport RedBrick in ERWin, I need to know:

Does anybody have information on any other data modeling tool that works
with both Oracle and RedBrick?

Thanks in advance!

Bill
