I posted this as a response via the web forum. Interesting that the Post reply does not quote the original. That would make it tougher to respond to technical posts where it is useful to insert comments throughout an original.
I wanted to assure Johnathan that the forum is not intended to replace the e-mail list. It is a complement. I think it's most valuable feature will be the archives. Then users can search for answers before asking an already answered question. I do agree that the interface is probably not optimal for being the primary view of new posts. A news reader style would fit my usage better, too.
