For the trusts to work, do you have all the host names
(fully-qualified hostnames) in;
/etc/hosts
/etc/hosts.equiv
~root/.rhosts

Hello,

Any help with my problem will be most gratefully received.

I'm trying to set-up a test HDR pair in the above environment, I already
have
two pairs working over the last two years or so with the very same IDS
and OS
versions. I recall I had a challenge with getting HDR replicating but
got
there in the end. However, this time I just cant crack it.

Anyone aware of a crib sheet of to-do's re configuring HDR on RH ES4?

As a background I have two instances identically built upon two servers
ready
to replicate. I know that if I dont get rsh, rexec, rlogin to work
nicely then
replication will not work. Rsh works fine after setting it up. On taking
the
the level zero upon the to be primary and restoring on the secondary
with
ontape -p and then issuing onmode -d secondary primary_service_name as
done
many times before, the log reveals "cannot contact primary, DR turned
off".

My recollection is of this being a security issue with ES4. Looking for
tips
or a how to sheet!

Also seem to recall if two systems trust each other sufficiently to
replicate
then I should be able to cross instance query with "select * from
db@instance:tblname", I cant do this either and get a -908 error.
