I downloaded IIUG.IDS.10.00.UC5I1.linux-I32.tar. I untarred everything,
using tar xvf in my /opt informix directory, since that is where I tried
to install the software. Since my Centos machine is 32 bit Linux
running a 2.4.21 kernel I assume that is the right version. I keep it
updated with alll patches compatible with Redhat Enterprise 3. There are
no additional pieces of software that might cloud the issue. I checked
group and ownership of files in the etc/IIFfiles file, and they seem to
be correct.
I have version 9.4 running on a Centos 4 machine with no problems. I am
trying to run the two versions of Informix in parallel to determine
which will best meet our needs at work. At the present time we are on
7.31 running on E15 K sun machines.
