A esql/c multi-thread ap running out of free mem

Dear All....

I've a esql/c multi-thread socket server ap
which select Data in one thread and store data in global array vars ,
and the others accept the java applet's connection and then
send those global vars selected from DB .. so far so good !!

what bother is that ... I run this app and connect a java applet to it
it runs perfect , until I run "top" and found
the free mem are running out of !!

Mem:2061636k av, 1628520k used,433116k free, 0k shrd, 176144k buff
430316k actv, 855448k in_d, 400k in_c
Swap: 4096564k av, 0k used, 4096564k free 1181400k cached


I noticed that the number of free mem is small , the performance of
Informix engine will be slow ....also ap will be slow , too !!


So...What can I do to this problem !? ...Any comments,suggestions
are welcome !!!!
