Physical Processor to Virtual processor mapping.

Hello Everyone,

We had recently retired one of the cluster nodes and are running the two
Informix instances in the same node. We have also added additional CPUs
to this node.

Solaris version 9

IDS version 9.40 FC4

Instance 1 CPU Affinity in onconfig

VPCLASS CPU,num=9,aff=1-17,noage

Instance 2 CPU Affinity in onconfig

VPCLASS CPU,num=2,aff=18-19,noage

When I run a heavy transaction in Instance 2, I don't see the CPUs 18
and 19 utilized. Most likely it is utilizing the first two CPUs. Sun OS
sees the CPUs as (0, 1, 2, 3, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 18, 19). I would
like to know how an Informix instance sees the CPUs. Does it see it as
Sun Os sees or does it see the CPUs as (0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9,
10, 11).

Previously I had Instance 1 configured as "VPCLASS
CPU,num=9,aff=1-11,noage".

If anyone could share their insight, it will be deeply appreciated.
