Hi,

this should not happen.
Temp dbspaces that existed BEFORE the archive was done
should (automatically) be re-created during/after the restore.
They are re-created and not restored (since they are not archived).

I admit that I didn't try out this scenario with a whole-system
archive and restore in 7.3 for quite some time. I don't think
that this is a known problem, at least I can't find any.

Any error message about these temp dbspaces in either online.log
or in bar_act.log file ? There could be a hint as to why this happened ...

[ Path names must be exactly the same on system to be restored.
Chunk files must exist prior to starting the restore, owner/group both
"informix", access rights -rw-rw---- (660). I assume you've got these
things right ... ]

In case all this doesn't help/work, more information is needed :
- "onstat -d" output of archived system,
- ls -l of chunks pathnames on restore system,
- log files of the "critical times" during archive and restore,
- exact version (oninit -V),
- OS name / version.

We are testing our restore on our DR system. We use onbar and used onbar
-r
-w for the restore option. When we try to bring the server online, it
errors
out noting it can find the two dbspaces which are marked as temp. We know
that temp dbspaces do not restore, the chunks were created on the DR
system,
but for some reason the informix server is not seeing them. We have done
this before and not had this issue.

Any thoughts on why this might be occuring? We are going to recreate the
chunks and see if that helps.
