Please do not post MIME, many of us do not use an HTML browser for reading
postings and the bandwidth is 4-10 times higher than pure text.

LOW unless you specify MEDIUM or HIGH.

There are two excellent utilities my own dostats which is an ESQL/C program and
upd_stats which I think is a Perl script. Both implement the recommended suite
of UPDATE STATISTICS commands on every table on a database or even on several or
all databases in an instance. The suite is designed to provide sufficient
statistical distributions for critical columns while performing the minimum work
neccessary. Dostats has many options for modifying its behavior and can even
select only those tables whose stats are likely to be out-of-date using criteria
you supply. Both are available for download from the IIUG Software Repository,
dostats is part of the package utils2_ak available there. Go to the IIUG web
site (www.iiug.org) and select 'software' then select 'Index of Files in hte
Repository', then select 'Database Administration' and scroll down to utils2_ak
and/or upd_stats. Note that I have submitted an update to utils2_ak which
includes an update to dostats and which has not yet been posted online. So if
the date in the README.1st file in the package you download is not January 10,
2002 (should have been 2003 actually my error) get the update in a few days.
