Unfortunately these both refer to apache 3 and php 4 both of which are
on a par with Online 5. php 5.2 no longer accepts the ifx_* functions
but rather requires use of PDO_INFORMIX. Depending on you platform
this can vary from awkward to well nigh **$^%^"%^ impossible. Linux
'looks' relatively easy, AIX is convoluted and requires some fairly
specific gcc versions depending on the O/S libraries. There are many
sites with hints and tips (mainly linux based) but nothing really
looks at a generic install on a *n*x platform. The PDO classes are
also very poorly described (if at all!!),
