Hi Alan

I had the same issues recently. There are no future plans to
port current versions of Informix products to SCO 6.0.0. But
any binaries that are created in SCO 5.0.7 and below will
run on SCO 6.0.0.. The following comes from SCO tech support -

The issues have been covered in J Boland's 2006 migration talk and
recently in a support e-mail .

The error is an indication that they are trying to mix OSR5 ABI code
with SVR5 (newly compiled) code.

It basically is they must use the OSR5 ABI version of the compilation
tools on the system..... They need to install the unixds ($99 license)

set their path to

PATH=/osr5/bin:$PATH

This uses the OSR5 version of the compilation tools automatically.

There is also some script changes that they will need to make; I have copied John Boland's recent response to Asoh san on this same topic and
tracked in SR 913415

As a start in understanding the issue I would ask:

1) Has the customer to set their PATH to

/osr5/usr/bin:$PATH

before building and executing the application?

2) What Mainteance Pack is installed. If you dont have MP3 installed,
can you please get it installed and see if the error persists?

3) When you installed the 4Gl did they edit the install script
called $INFORMIXDIR/bin/c4gl and change line

from: TLILIB=/usr/lib/libnsl_s.a

to: TLILIB=/osr5/usr/lib/libnsl.so

and modify link command option

from: -lnsl_s

to: -lnsl

Hope this helps. My code ran successfully by following
the instructions above. I compiled using SCO 5.0.5.
