jay,
what you thought if creating variables in the first place is right.
why not try doing like....
in every if statement you have on your before group, before ending each if's, you say let totall1 = total of (hist_sze * 3.00)
on another if statement you say totall2 = count * 6 and so on....
then on your last row, you add all your variables
see sample below.... hope that will help

Let me clarify my question and give my code. Here is the bottom part of my ace report. In the before group of, you see that I use if else statements to find 4 different totals. I can’t do a group total of in the “on last row” and when I do ust a total of in "on last row" It doesn't give me a total of the computed numbers.

count * 3 using "####.##"
else if hist_coopcode = "001" then
print "Coop Code: ",hist_coopcode,column 15," = ",column 18,
count * 3 using "####.##"

let totall3 = count * 3
on last row
print "Total sales:" totall1 + totall2 + totall3 ....
