Conference features include on-site certification, interactive product roadmap discussions, and product-specific “Ask The Expert” sessions.

As usual, IIUG Members will receive a $200 discount, but members MUST update their IIUG Profile before they can register at the discounted rate. See the IIUG web site at http://www.iiug.org and click on “Update Your Profile and Vote for the 2001-2002 Board of Directors.”

Survey: How Can IBM Informix Help Your System Administrator?

Please answer the survey question below. It takes just a minute to respond and when you do, you help influence IBM Informix Product Management’s plans, and you help strengthen IBM’s already strong commitment to the Informix family of products.

Survey Question:

System Administration activities can take a lot of time and can require significant knowledge. What 3 system administration activities do you feel should be automated?

Please click on smtools@informix.com, and list the three things you’d like to see automated, in order of importance, and send your answer directly to the IBM Informix product manager responsible for making product improvements happen!

IIUG Board Elections – Time to Vote!

Make your voices heard! Get out and VOTE! Don’t be left behind!

The next few years will be the most critical ever in the history of IIUG, as the Informix and IBM cultures meet and begin to work together. Vote for the people who will represent your interests during this crucial time at: /members/electiindex.php and click on UPDATE MEMBERSHIP PROFILE AND VOTE.

IIUG Board elections are being held through September 15, 2001. All IIUG members as of July 20, 2001 may vote.

New Advisory Council – Malcolm Weallans

During this time of transition, the IIUG Board needs to act more quickly than ever. When questions about the IBM deal and other important issues come up, we need to quickly poll a representative sample of our membership, tabulate results, and communicate that information to IBM Informix representatives.

To this end we have introduced the IIUG Advisory Council. This body will sit alongside IUGLC as advisors to the Board of Directors, ready to quickly respond to important questions as they arise.

Please volunteer to join the IIUG Advisory Council. It won’t take much time, but it will contribute greatly to our effectiveness. For more information, go to /advcoun. To join the IIUG Advisory Council please email malcolm@iiug.org.
