IIUG Board of Directors - 2009-2010The operation of the International Informix Users Group (IIUG) is managed and directed by a President and Board of Directors. The current members of the IIUG Board of Directors are:
Gary Ben-Israel has been working with Informix products since 1993 as a database administrator, database designer, application architect and application developer. Over the past 14 years, Gary has used 4GL, C and Java. Gary has been working with Informix Online 5, IDS 7, 9 and 10 and is on the closed Beta program for IDS 11. As a board member he served as editor of the IIUG Insider, took part in conference planning committees and is now in charge of the IIUG membership. IIUG Insider Profile - 01 April 2004
Sergio has worked with Informix for 20 years, starting with Informix 3.30 and including almost every product. He participated in creation of the Portuguese IUG as a director. "I believe in Informix and in the role of the user group to protect a technology. It should be managed by users with some rotation over time."
Andrew Ford has been working with Informix products since 1999 as a Database Administrator of IDS versions 7, 9 , 10 and 11 and an ESQL/C, PHP and Python Software Engineer. Andrew is currently the Senior Database Administrator for NetworkIP, the industry leader of prepaid telecommunication services. Prior to working for NetworkIP, Andrew was a Senior Database Administrator for The Home Depot and Director of Systems Engineering for Simplified Development Corporation. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Sciences in Computer Science from the University of Texas at Austin, is an IBM Certified Solution Expert in IDS versions 7 and 9 and is an IBM Certified System Administrator in IDS versions 10 and 11. Tammy has been working with Informix products since 1997. She works as a Database Administrator for the Anchorage School District, where she also has an occasional opportunity to dabble in 4GL and ESQL/C. Tammy has been a community volunteer in her hometown for many years, and loves bringing people with similar interests together. She's been attending various Informix conferences since 1998, and is honored to have been involved in the Informix community as a conference planner since 2006. Art Kagel has been working with Informix database and development products almost since the beginning. He is a frequent contributor to the IIUG Forums and the CDI Usenet group and a popular presenter at conferences. Art is currently working as a Senior Consultant and Director of Consulting Services for Oninit providing services to IBM Informix users around the world. He is also a former winner of the IIUG Directors Award for his outstanding contributions to the Informix Community.
Cindy Lichtenauer has been working with Informix products since 1989. Twelve of those years were spent at the Informix Lenexa Kansas office, as a Systems Engineer. Cindy currently is Business Development Manager for Advanced DataTools, an IBM/Informix Business Partner. She continually works to spread the word about the Informix product line, to provide knowledge to Informix users and to influence the future and direction of Informix products. Cindy is an advocate of local user groups and is on the board of the Kansas City Informix User's Group.
Al Martin brings more than 15 years of support and development experience to IBM; being an avid Informix fan since 1995 when he joined as a Support Engineer. Currently he serves as the Director of Data Management Global Client Support holding responsibility for Informix, DB2 LUW, Warehouse, Optim, SolidDB, DB2z, IMS and Common Client Technologies. Al is a passionate advocate within the Informix business community serving on the IIUG Board of Directors since October 2008. His mission is to ensure an enduring client relationship through superior support and product value.
Stuart Litel is an IT professional with eighteen years experience working with Informix products. His early days with Informix products included beta testing Informix 4GL and Informix SQL versions 1 as well as the first versions of Informix Rapid Development System and Turbo (now known as On-Line). He is one of the country's longest time users and developers of Informix products, and considered an authority and vast resource of Informix database knowledge. Stuart is also the founder of the New England Informix User Group and remains a very active participant as the group's leader today. Some noteworthy activities within the Informix user community include his technical contributions to various books published on Informix products as well as to the Informix Certification Exams administered by Informix Corporation. Stuart's professional work experience includes positions as Analyst, Developer, Data Base Administrator, and Project Manager. His knowledge spans the Informix product line and includes the various database engines as well as development tools. He has been a freelance Informix Consultant for more than ten years, providing his expertise to large-scale OLTP, web based and data warehouse systems requiring optimal speed, performance, and precision. Jean Georges Perrin has been involved with Informix related products since 1997 and is actively working on the IIUG Board since 2002. Jean Georges has over 10 years of experience in software development, 7 years in the management of projects in high technology and international environments. Jean Georges has started web development back in 1994. He has worked for 5 years for Four J's Development Tools and 3 years for Awoma, mainly involved in "webification" of data and applications. Jean Georges has a Master's Degree in Computer Sciences. He is married, has two gorgeous sons and lives in France. IIUG Insider Profile - 29 October 2002
Kernoal has been a user of Informix for over 12 years and in 2005 attended his first Informix technical conference, where he saw first-hand what the IIUG does. He volunteered for the Planning Committee for the next year and became increasingly interesting in furthering the goals of IIUG to the point of running successfully for a place on the IIUG Board of Directors in 2007. Kate has been a Database Administrator with The Home Depot for 12 years, working primarily with Informix for her first 9 years, but also with Unix DB2 UDB and SqlServer the last 3 years. Prior to that, she worked in Ingres and Informix at Lockheed Georgia Company as both a DBA and Data Modeler. She has been a member of the South-East Informix User Group (SEIUG) for the whole 12 years, and was president of SEIUG for the 3 years prior to being elected to the Board. Through contacts with the Board, she has learned many useful tidbits about Informix that weren't written in any manuals, and whenever possible she shares this information as the Web Content Manager. Kate is also the lead User Advocate, which includes collecting lists on new features users would like to see in the next release, as well as a list of vendors that need "encouragement" to upgrade to version 10 and beyond of Informix. |
